Marigold is not a color I normally think I can pull off. But there were too many things about this dress I love that I had to take a chance and buy this dress online, without ever having tried it on in person. Besides, Anthropologie has a great return policy.
Things I love about this dress:
(1) The dotted print. I am a sucker for dots. I already have way too many clothes with dotted print. But none on anything yellow. So I had to have this dress.
(2) The lace back. Just reiterate item (1) above, except change the word "dot" with the word "lace".
(3) The front and back paradox. From the front, the dress looks prim and proper. And then, turn around, and suddenly the dress looks girlishly sweet with a hint of sexiness. Some people may have issues with the mixed messages sent by the dress. But I think I am a complicated person, so why shouldn't my dress be complicated?
