Whenever I go to San Francisco, I always try to stop at the Embarcadero Center for a quick lookaround. Most of the stores are tiny when compared to their counterparts in Union Square just a 15 minute walk away, so it may seem strange that I would take time to visit Embarcadero Center at all. However, since everyone's first instinct is to head to the big storefronts in Union Square, I find that the product turnover in the Union Square stores are very high, meaning most things never make it past the first discount price at those stores. The stores in Embarcadero Center, however, have less foot traffic, so I can sometimes find things there that are languishing on the shelves or racks at the unbelievably low final clearance prices.
Take this necklace I purchased at the Embarcadero Center Ann Taylor store, for example. It was originally $45.00, but now marked down to the final price of $9.88 plus tax. Although it is very well made and feels very substantial, I'm not sure I would have purchased it at the full retail price. However, I would have happily purchased it if I found it at around half off, or around the $25 price point. So to find it on final sale for less than ten dollars really made my day.
The necklace is stainless steel with mint colored stones dripping from the chain. It is hard to see from the pictures, but each stone is actually encased with a border of crystals, so the necklace has a sparkly quality to it. Mint is a trendy color these days, but even if it weren't it is an easy color to work with other palettes, so I anticipate getting a lot of wear from this necklace.
